Italian Scientist Predicted Deadly Quake; Authorities Silenced Warnings

Reuters reports that Italian expert Gioacchino Giuliani warned residents about this morning's deadly quake a month ago but was reprimanded by authorities. A good wrap-up here of the news thus far; Italian news agency INSA reports that other Italian seismologists say Giuliani's approach, which uses the presence of radon gas to predict quakes, is inconsistent and can't be relied upon.
