A Lifeline for Syria's Science Exiles

Dozens of Syrian academics have been kidnapped for ransom or assassinated during Syria's civil war, and reports of interrogations and torture of professors and students in detention are becoming commonplace. The Institute of International Education, which has handed out 43 fellowships to displaced Syrians in the last 2 years, is now appealing for funds and for safe havens to step forward.
