Sara reports on everything from proteins to protons to protohumans. After earning an M.S. in physiology from Southern Illinois University, where she studied mouse sperm, and a second M.S. in molecular biology from the University of Washington, where she studied mouse eyes, she finally decided to abandon mice for a career in journalism. Prior to working at Science, she interned in Fermilab’s communications office and freelanced for small publications in Seattle. Sara likes to write about neurobiology, conservation, the history of science, and bioethics.
