Obama Considers Reversing Bush Endangered Species Rule

It’s back to normal with endangered species. President Barack Obama this afternoon directed the departments of Interior and Commerce to evaluate a rule implemented late in the Bush Administration. The rule allowed less expert oversight of projects that might impact endangered species. While the review is under way, other federal agencies must consult with the Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration before conducting or approving a project, as they had in the past.
