Michael Mann Exonerated as Penn State Inquiry Finds 'No Substance' To Allegations

Just out: Pennsylvania State University has completed the second half of a two-part investigation of Michael Mann's role in the so-called "Climategate" affair. The 2-month inquiry has found that Mann is innocent of the remaining charge of scientific misconduct that had been raised by e-mails uncovered in November. The full report is here. Its conclusion:

... the Investigatory Committee determined that Dr. Michael E. Mann did not engage in, nor did he participate in, directly or indirectly, any actions that seriously deviated from accepted practices within the academic community … .

A previous investigation found him innocent of suppressing data, deleting e-mails, and misusing confidential information.
