SAN DIEGO—Geoengineering has been a hot topic at this year’s annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (which publishes ScienceNOW). Science reporter Eli Kintisch chatted with Ken Caldeira, a geochemist at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Stanford, California, about the latest efforts to cool the world—and the possible risks of doing so.
