Today's Topic

You've probably heard something about the 21st of next month being a really bad day all around. A rogue planet, a marauding comet, or some such nastiness will wipe out life itself, or at least civilization, when the Maya calendar "ends." You don’t believe that sort of stuff, of course, but you might know someone who does. So, did you have a better comeback when they told you about the Maya apocalypse than when they insisted global warming was a figment of Al Gore's imagination?

If not, join us for a live chat at 3 p.m. EST on Thursday, 29 November, on this page to discuss the coming Armageddon with two experts who have been answering Doomsday questions from a worried public for years. You can leave your questions in the comment box below before the chat starts. The full text of the chat will be archived on this page.
