David Grimm

David is the Online News Editor of Science. He also writes for the magazine, where he has covered a variety of topics, from atomic bomb testing to birth control for cats and dogs. David received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in genetics from Yale University.

David is the winner of the 2010 Animal Reporting Award from the National Press Club. In 2009, one of his stories for Science, "The Mushroom Cloud's Silver Lining," was published in The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2009. David's writing has also appeared in U.S. News & World Report and the Financial Times. He teaches science journalism at Johns Hopkins University.
