The U.S. Geological Survey has released a preliminary computer simulation of the devastating Oso landslide. According to King 5 News, the computer model used to recreate the landslide took nearly 20 years to develop. It takes into consideration how mudflow works and the suspected volume of material. The slide engulfed a rural neighborhood in the state of Washington last month and took more than 30 lives.
