Gossip Brings Out the Good

Don’t feel so bad the next time you gossip. According to researchers at Stanford University, engaging in a bit of tittle-tattle every now and then can encourage strangers to cooperate and deter bullies. Gossip, according to the study—published in Psychological Science—may even be critical to maintaining the social order.
